Ayoze Perez is officially a Leicester player

Leicester City has signed Ayoze Perez from Newcastle United for £30m.

He has committed his future to the club with a 4-year contract. The club stamped his release clause to £30m.

“I’m very happy and very pleased," he told LCFC TV. "I’m very proud to be part of the Leicester family and I can’t wait to get started."

“The club want to keep growing as much as they can and that’s something I like. I spoke with the manager and that was important. That made me feel very comfortable about the decision to come here.”

He is Newcastle United's top goalscorer in the 2018-19 season, bagging 12 goals with him. He had won Newcastle's Goal of the Season award thrice since arriving to the Magpies in July 2014 from Segunda Division club CD Tenerife.

He is known as being creative with the ball, and his quality can bolster Leicester' attacking strength. He and Jamie Vardy can form a very dangerous attack for the opposition.

He is Leicester City's second signing in summer 2019 after buying right-back James Justin from Luton Town for an undisclosed fee.
