Fenerbahce unable to sign Ozil

Super Lig club Fenerbahce insisted that the club is interested in Arsenal's Mesut Ozil, however, unable to sign the 30-year-old due to 'money problems'.

Arsenal is forced to offload the World Cup winner due to his high wage bill and the contribution for the club that is less than expected. He only contributed 6 goals and 3 assists in 35 matches in the 2018-19 season, which can prove that he has a lower work rate than Aubameyang or Lacazette who is paid less.

Ozil is also a fan of Fenerbahce, however, it is said that though both parties(Ozil and Fenerbahce) will be happy, the club started to move away from his pursuit.

The Super Lig side wanted a loan, and regarding his £13.5 salary, Arsenal will pay £5.5m and Fener will pay the remaining.

Fener's official website says:

"In recent weeks, and especially in the last few days, the necessity of providing information about the claims of Mesut Ozil, which is on the agenda, to clarify the situation has arisen."

"Mesut Ozil, with his career and stance successfully represents our country abroad, is an important value known with the identity of Fenerbahce."

"However, Fenerbahce does not have an initiative for Mesut Ozil. Under the current economic conditions, such a step is not possible for both parties."

"Our President, Ali Koç, made statements on the subject in the WinWin program held on June 20 and emphasised that this could not be realised in the short term.

We present it to our community and the public."
