Former Spain winger dies in accident

Spanish club Sevilla confirmed that their former winger Jose Antonio Reyes, a former Arsenal, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and Espanyol player, died in a traffic accident.


The Spanish international grew up in Sevilla's youth academy and entered the senior team. He moved to London after Arsenal offered a big cash transfer. He entered Arsenal at 2004 and left the Gunners at 2007.


He played for Real and Atletico and returned to Sevilla, his youth club, and gave a crucial performance which made Sevilla win 3 consecutive Europa League trophies between 2014 and 2016.


He died when he was 35, and currently are playing for Extremadura in the Segunda division, second highest football league in Spain.
