John Terry emerges as one of Newcastle's managerial candidates

Chelsea legend John Terry, who helped guide Aston Villa to the fifth rank in the Championship and beat Lampard's Derby County to earn a promotion, is of the 10 candidates in Newcastle's wishlist to replace Rafa Benitez.

John Terry, Mikel Arteta, Roberto Mancini, Laurent Blanc, Neil Redfearn, David Moyes, Phil Neville, Quique Sanchez Flores, Sam Allardyce, Steve Bruce and Giovanni van Bronckhorst are possible candidates to fill Benitez's empty position.


Belgium boss Roberto Martinez insists that he wants to stay with the Belgium national team and has no desire to move. John Terry and Jose Mourinho have expressed no interest in joining the Magpies.


Newcastle United were previously linked to Israeli manager Avram Grant, however, he was deemed him unsuitable by the club chiefs.


John Terry not only influenced the club's progression, but also helped the club's players, especially loanees since his appointed as assistant hea coach in October 2018. Chelsea's Tammy Abraham and Manchester United's Axel Tuanzebe admitted his influence to them.
