Manchester United had lost interest in Harry Maguire after Leicester City told both clubs he would cost £100m.

Now, City can take advantage of this, however, paying too much for an inexperienced defender who never plays in a pressuring match such as the Champions League would be a good try for the City board.
Also to note, UEFA has been watching Manchester City's financial flow as they believed the Premier League champions has breached the Financial Fair Play regulations and will risk missing Champions League next season.
Manchester City might need to find a replacement for Vincent Kompany however they might need to find the one playing in a lower or similar division, like how City signed Kompany from Hamburg for only £7,6m.

Possible alternatives might be Kalidou Koulibaly, Djene Dakonam, Raphael Varane, or Samuel Umtiti.
