Leicester will sign Ayoze Perez for £30m

Leicester City and Newcastle United had reached an agreement regarding Newcastle striker Ayoze Perez.

The deal would mean that Ayoze Perez will officially be a Leicester player next season.

Perez had a successful season with the Magpies as he was the club's highest goalscorer in the 2018-19 season. The 25-year old scored 13 goals and assisted 4 goals in 41 games for the club.

Following Rafa Benitez's departure, he had been linked to Valencia. However, Leicester were ahead of the La Liga side to sign the former Tenerife striker.

Ayoze Perez was signed by Newcastle in July 2014 when he was at Spanish club Tenerife. He joined Tenerife's U-19 squad before entering the senior squad.

While Ayoze Perez would move to Leicester, Newcastle would be given another blow as Mike Ashley refused to sign Salomon Rondon, who will return to parent club West Bromwich Albion since his loan spell ends.
