Why Manchester City target Rodri is different from other footballers

Updated: Jun 21, 2019

Everyone has known that Manchester City is close to signing Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodri and the Spanish himself also wants to work with Pep Guardiola.

However, note that Rodri is unlike other footballers who used social media to post their selfies, give inspirational terms, and etc. So anyone planning to type his name in Instagram or Facebook or Twitter might only find his fan page or someone with the same name. Why? He isn't interested in the social media and just cares about living the same life like others. Wealth doesn't mean much to the Spanish international, similar to Chelsea's N'Golo Kante.

As a footballer for a club like Atletico Madrid, he is obviously rich. If anyone spot him using his car, people know that he not a luxury-minded person. He drives a second-hand Vauxhall Corsa from an old woman instead of driving a Mercedes-Benz, or a BMW.

Rodri is also a hardworking student. He spent his time studying a degree in Business and Economics, but, surprisingly, never even missed a single lecture even though playing professional football.

Everyone knew that footballers will live in a luxury penthouse and maybe have more than one. Rodri, he had his own push flat , however, still stayed at the student accomodation in Universidad de Castellon.

Unlike Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson, he isn't interested in using some tattoos in his body.

Manchester City must pay 62.5m euros to bring him to the Etihad, and if they do, it would be the biggest money signing by the Blues, not to mention if Koulibaly really leaves Napoli and plays under Pep Guardiola.

Looking at Rodri's personality, who does not care about having so much money and living a normal lifestyle, it seems he would be a favourite of Pep Guardiola.
