Manchester United agrees to Maguire signing

Updated: Jul 17, 2019

Manchester United has agreed with Leicester City to sign Harry Maguire for a world-record fee of £80m, the Daily Mail reports.

Harry Maguire prefers moving to either one of the Manchester clubs, though at first he chooses City.

The fee is £60m plus £20m, which will see him £5m more expensive than Virgil van Dijk who moved to Liverpool for £75m.

Before the rumored move, Leicester started overpricing him and Manchester City decided to withdraw from the race, while Manchester United started to scout another defender. The former Hull became mad at the club for not letting him leave.

The Foxes will arrange a move for Brighton's Lewis Dunk as replacement. Though Brighton values the 27-year-old at £40-45m, Leicester is willing to pay half of Maguire's fee, keeping the other half as profit. No bid has been made yet by Leicester.

Maguire is set for his medical in Old Trafford tomorrow.
