Mohammed Elneny to quit Arsenal for Bordeaux

Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny will join Ligue 1 club Bordeaux with a transfer fee lower than €12.5m, the fee that Arsenal paid when signing him from Basel.

The Egyptian will also receive a lower wage in France. His weekly salary in Arsenal is €56k.

The former Basel failed to regain his position, featuring only 17 times for Arsenal in the 2018-19 season and only assisting one goal.

The 26-year-old isn't able to compete with Granit Xhaka, Alex Iwobi, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira for the midfield side.

He was put to sale by the Gunners and only Bordeaux expressed interest. Previously he was offered to some Premier League rivals however can't keep up with his gigantic wage. In January this year, Roma expressed interest however until today Roma makes no move for the midfielder.

Elneny is desperate to fix his career and is prepared to take a wage cut in order to play first-team football.
