Joao Felix, the 19-year old teenager who shone for Benfica in the UEFA Champions League and the Europa League, will make a move to Real Madrid's cross-town rivals, Atletico. He is expected to be the next world-class footballer after Cristiano Ronaldo is already in a retiring age.

Griezmann is leaving and the attacking line may be in a bad formation, however, Diego Simeone will be relieved that the Portugal youngster will help his project.

Felix's release clause is €120m, however, Atletico paid €126m to Benfica since Diego Simeone's side wanted to pay in installments. The deal is so done and closed.

Felix was born in 1999 and started his development in Os Pestinhas, then earned an opportunity to play in Porto. He spent 7 years in FC Porto and coaches felt that he was too small, so they released him to Primeira Liga rivals Benfica.

He started his debut for Benfica when he was 16, playing for the reserve team in LigaPro, the second-divison of Portugese football. In 13 matches, he managed to register 3 goals.

He was promoted to the senior squad in the early 2018-19 season. He break individual records, being the youngest player to score in the Primeira Liga, and the youngest player to score a hat-trick in the Europa League when Benfica thrashed Eintracht Frankfurt. In 43 matches throughout the season, he scored 20 goals and registered 9 assists.

He was scouted by big clubs at the 2018-19 season, and Benfica, aware of that, urged the player to sign an extension contract with the contract changing his release clause to €120m.
