Real Madrid left-back Theo Hernandez lost his position after the signing of former Lyon defender Ferland Mendy.
Hernandez will join the Serie A side and sign a six-year contract, earning €1.8m per season.
If AC Milan wants to buy him, Marco Giampaolo's side will need to pay €20m to Real with no buy-back option.
He made 28 appearances for Los Blancos, scoring once and assisting once. He helped Real won the Champions League once, FIFA Club World Cup twice, Supercopa de España once, and UEFA Supercup once.
When he became a promising talent with local rival Atletico Madrid, Zidane immediately signed the French left-back for €24m.
