Spain legend Fernando Torres retires after 18 years playing football

Spain World Cup winner Fernando Torres confirmed that he will retire from professional football. The cause is believed to be a long-term knee injury that may disrupt his both his playing time and career.

"I have something very important to announce. After 18 exciting years, the time has come to put an end to my football career. Next Sunday, the 23rd at 10:00AM, local time in Japan, I will have a press conference in Tokyo to explain all the details. See you there,"he said.
Fernando Torres started his career in Atletico Madrid, scoring 91 goals in 244 matches. Then moved to Liverpool, scoring 81 goals in 142 matches, then moved again, but to Premier League rival Chelsea, scoring 45 goals in 172 matches. Then he was loaned to Milan and Atletico, then returned to his boyhood club, scoring a total of 38 goals in 160 matches.
Sagan Tosu signed him in 2018 and until now, scored 4 goals in 28 games.
