Top clubs interested in young Romanian

Young Romanian attacking midfielder Ianis Hagi has caught the attention of top European clubs, particularly Manchester City and Barcelona.



The Viitorul Constanta player has been an important player for club and country. He helped Viitorul reached third in Romanian championship and helped the Romania U-21 reached semi-final of the UEFA U-21 European Championship, but were beaten by Germany.


Viitorul Constanta director Cristian Bivolaru said that Pep Guardiola is interested in the 20-year-old and will loan him to sister club Girona if they succeed in getting him.


Bivolaru also claims that Barcelona has been recently linked with the youngster and will either loan him or play him in Barcelona B should the youngster selects Camp Nou as his next destination.


Reports from Bavarian Football Works also suggest that Bayern Munich and Borrusia Dortmund has scouted the Romanian when Germany met Romania. They are interested in Hagi, reports say.


He started 39 games for Viitorul Constanta in the 2018-19 season and bagged 14 goals and 8 assists. Meanwhile for Romania U-21, he scored 4 goals and added 2 assists in 13 games .


Gheorghe Hagi, his father, considred as one of the best players in his country of all time, was a former Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Galatasaray player. He currently coaches his son's current club.


Gazeta Sporturilor mentioned that the estimated fee of the teenager stands at around €7m.
