Arjen Robben officially retires from football at age 35

Dutchman Arjen Robben has made a decision to retire from playing professional football. He spent his time with Groningen, PSV, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich before making a tough choice to retire. He made 602 appearances in his playing career so far and registered 209 goals and 158 assists to his tally.

The right winger released a statement about his decision.
"I have been thinking a lot over the past few weeks," he wrote. "As everyone knows, I consciously took the time to make an informed decision about my future after my last Bayern Munich match. And I decided to put an end to my career as a professional football player."

He also represented the Netherlands national team, however, retired from international football in 2017. In total he made 96 caps, and netted 37 goals.
